How to use Direct Messages

How to use direct messages

Direct messages, also known as private messages, PMs, or simply messages, allow users to communicate with each other privately within the forum. Here's how you can use Direct Messages:

Accessing messages: To access your Direct Messages, log in to your Paranormal.com account and click the envelope icon, located in the top navigation bar, directly to the right of your username.

Starting a new message: To start a new Direct Message, click on the "Send direct message" button, and then you can select the recipient(s) from a list of forum members. Depending on your account level, you can add multiple recipients if you want to message more than one person at a time.

Writing your message: Once you've selected the recipient(s), you'll be directed to a message composition screen. Here, you can type your message, add attachments if necessary, and format your text using the provided tools.

Sending the message: After composing your message, review it to ensure everything looks good. Once you're ready, click the "Send direct message" button to dispatch your message to the recipient(s).

Responding to messages: When you receive a new message, you'll typically see a notification indicating that you have unread messages. Click on the notification, and from there, you can read the message and choose to reply (when allowed by the message creator) or take any other necessary action.

Managing messages: You have options available for managing your direct messages. You can archive, delete, or leave (group) messages, as needed. Archiving keeps the message visible but moves it out of your main inbox. Deleting removes the message entirely. Leaving a message removes you from the messaging but doesn't delete it for other participants.

By following these steps, you can effectively use Direct Messages to communicate privately with other forum members. Remember to adhere to the forum's guidelines and respect other users' privacy when engaging in direct messaging.
